shadowfox's older post, kennysia confirmed that it was timothy tiah (one of the bosses of nuffnang, which was one of the sponsors of mdg) who was on the phone with ringo (what kind of name is that) telling her about her blog traffic and plotting with her to get more votes from her blog fans by holding some kind of contest to win tickets to the finale. dodgy. but at least ringo didn't get into the top 3 lah. dug her own grave.
what am i doing when i'm supposed to be studying, right? crazy. back to work.
weekend
3 days without internet is torture. cannot do my daily blog-surfing, facebooking, web-comic reading, series watching, neopetting, etc. also cannot look up stuff i don't know when i'm studying. so sien. i resorted to playing freecell and minesweeper to cure my boredom. dunno what they were doing to the internet for so long, but it finally came back today.
we celebrated nadia's birthday on saturday night/sunday morning. pretty pink cakes and 24 candles for her.

the weather was warm and sunny on sunday so the angmohs were out playing with balls and frisbees, and barbequing and sunbathing. then the idiots living downstairs decided to bring out their amplifier and blast their stupid music loudly. wth! i put on my earplugs still can hear their bass or whatever thumping. i had to put on my earphones and listen to my own music to drown out their noise pollution, but i can't study with music so i played minesweeper. these people always damn inconsiderate. sometimes also can hear their annoying thumping music for no reason. why must they listen to music so loud??!! felt like throwing our dead mouldy tulips and soil at them.
eelynn and my tulips aren't growing. :( only naz's one is.
pandan chicken
i tried to cook pandan chicken (lok thian style) again last night. my first attempt tasted of only coconut because some recipes said to use coconut milk. this time i didn't use coconut milk and i put corn. it was much closer to the original. yay. not enough salt and pepper though.
i miss lok thian food. and other food also, of course. 3 more months...
more random stuff
we planted tulip bulbs which naz brought back from amsterdam. still waiting for them to grow..
there was a power cut yesterday. apparently a lot of things here need electricity including the telephones and internet. wth. so unrelated right? why need electricity for those? we also never thought that our window blinds work on electricity so me and eelynn's rooms were plunged into darkness and we had to study in the living room. then lots of people's water heaters didn't work even after the power came back on. van dared herself (by making me dare her) to shower in the freezing cold water and then asked me to blog about it (by asking if i would blog about it if she really did it). she said it was so cold it was painful. hahaha. me and eelynn went to shower next door. then the plumber came and fixed the heater.
went to chung ying to stock up on rice and noodles. as usual we got tempted by snacks which we can get for 7 times less in malaysia. eelynn got mochi, van got sanzha (haw flakes), and i got seaweed. haven't eaten seaweed for so long. it's so nice. i'm trying to make it last, but i've already eaten 3 out of the 12 packets.
my H key is hard to press. feels like there's something under it, preventing me from pressing properly. :(

i was talking to my dad on skype and i said i hadn't talked to my sister for some time so he decided to call her and put on speaker. then we tricked her that i came home for study break. lol damn funny. at first she didn't believe but after a while she did. i told her i never spent any money so i saved enough to buy plane ticket home. then she said i'm so stupid to spend my money on plane ticket when i could use it to buy stuff for myself or her. lol. then she ask my mom why she raise such a stupid daughter who go use money to buy ticket. omg damn funny.

i cooked cola chicken last night but van and eelynn thought it was just soya sauce chicken until i told them. haha. only got a bit of cola taste. i used one cup of cola but i guess it's not enough. but then the cola also dunno what brand one.

today i was walking home from sauchiehall street when this guy approached me saying
ni hao so i smiled and kept walking. but he followed and asked if i'm from china and i said no. then he asked where i'm from and i said malaysia then he said apa khabar. i was still walking and he was still following and dunno why i stopped lah. then he showed me his clipboard and said they're helping to educate poor people or something, i forget. i was thinking crap why did i stop? so i thought maybe i'd give him 1 pound. but then he said *some made up sounding names* donated 5 pounds today. so i gave him 3 pounds. then he asked for one more, so i gave him one more pound. i was wondering am i getting conned? then he took this book out of his bag and gave it to me. haha. some book by the founder of a society for krishna consciousness. then he showed me a word on his clipboard which was supposed to mean 'be happy' and he made me say it before he let me leave. hahaha.
i'm always uncertain about donating money coz i'm afraid of getting conned. i'm still wondering if i was. but i got a book for 4 pounds. haha. so now i have this book about a text from the mahabharata epic we learnt about in sejarah. anyone want to read it?
first time
wah i finished my research project already. and it's due on friday. whee! still need to check la. and it's pretty short la - only 33 pages long. lazy to write more already. but still i finished early. yay!
